Research

UF Health Fundus Image for AD Dr. Ruogu Fang Biomedical Engineering August 2024-Present Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects millions of people living in the U.S. This project will use deep learning models to predict AD from fundus images from UF Health Ophthalmology for the purpose of early disease intervention. Its goals are to create a deep learning model that uses fundus images to differentiate clinical data that is AD-prone from healthy control and evaluate the viability of clinical applications of the model through model explainability features and testing.
